Yoga Nidra, Cacao & Neurographic Art

An evening of deep rest and intuitive creation.

This experience begins with Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation practiced lying down. In this state between wakefulness and sleep, the nervous system can settle and the mind becomes quiet. Thoughts slow down, and space opens for inner images, sensations, and subtle insights.

After this deep rest, a cup of ceremonial cacao invites a gentle return to presence. Traditionally used in Central and South American cultures, cacao is known for its grounding and heart-opening qualities. In this setting, it supports a calm transition from stillness into creativity.

From here, the creative process begins.

Using the method of neurographic drawing, lines and shapes gradually emerge on paper. There is no need for artistic experience. The process is intuitive and meditative — a way of translating inner impressions into form, allowing tension to soften and new connections to appear.

Rather than focusing on technique, the evening invites exploration: through quiet attention, slow movement of the hand, and the freedom to let the drawing unfold in its own rhythm.

The result is not about creating a “perfect” image, but about experiencing how creativity can arise naturally from a state of rest.

Neurographic Design Painting by Liana Hoffmann

What is Neurographic Design?

Neurographic design is a creative drawing method that combines art, mindfulness, and psychology.

It was developed by the psychologist Pavel Piskarev and is based on the idea that the way we draw lines and shapes can influence how we process thoughts and emotions.

The process begins with spontaneous lines on paper — often representing a feeling, question, or inner tension. As the drawing evolves, intersections are softened into flowing curves and new shapes gradually appear. This transformation of the lines mirrors an inner process: complexity becomes more harmonious and new connections emerge.

What makes neurographic design unique is that it does not focus on artistic skill or creating a “beautiful” image. Instead, the emphasis lies on the process. Through slow, repetitive movements and intuitive drawing, the mind can settle and attention shifts into a meditative state.

Many people experience the practice as calming, clarifying, and surprisingly intuitive.

Over time, the drawing develops its own structure of lines, fields, and colors — a visual reflection of an inner journey.

No previous drawing experience is necessary. The method is accessible to anyone who is open to exploring creativity in a relaxed and intuitive way.
